What a wonderful day at the races. The boys made some awesome cars! I hope everyone had a great time!
And I know the boys are always interested in how they 'did' so here is more information than you could possibly want. Remember though it really is about making the car and spending time together.
The news is very exciting; but the boxes came while we were preparing for our Spring Campout, so they did not get the fanfare they deserved. That’s right! Our brand new Pinewood Derby track has arrived! I now have boxes of parts, that if assembled properly, should be our shinny 42ft long aluminum track!
To celebrate our new track (and to make sure we know how to put it together) we will be assembling and testing it out this Thursday, June 11th at Nash. Since the Wolf den won the penny challenge, they will get to try out the track first! Track testing will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Bring your cars to test out the track or just come to see our new track! There will not be any official competitive racing, so there will be no need to spend a lot of time preparing the cars. Just come and have some fun.
What a great Pinewood Derby! We had a terrific turn out. We ran lots a races and ate lots of good food! Thank you to all the parents that helped make this such a wonderful event. The exciting news is that next year we should have a new track.
The boys thought it was really cool that the Mayor was at their Blue and Gold. I thought it was really nice the Senator, the Mayor, and the Alderman took the time to attend our little Cub Scout banquet.
The boys did a great job with their skits and we had to say goodbye to some of our boys as they crossed over to Boy Scouts. Now we can focus our attention to the boy's favorite event of the year: The Pinewood Derby.
I am excited to announce that the Green Bay Packers have donated a special football to us for our silent auction at our Blue and Gold Banquet. This is a football with autographs of the entire 2008 players and coaches. We will hold this silent auction at our Blue and Gold Banquet on February 22nd.
What a beautiful day for our annual fall family outing. We again went to Happ's Pumpkin patch. We went though a spooky haunted bus; went for a nice walk through the corn maze and took everyone on a hayride. The kids got a pumpkin and a gord to bring home (and corn in their hair). I was so glad to see so many familys.
Today our Pack participated in the annual Kenosha CROP Walk. The weather was great! It was an awesome day to get out and walk and to do what we can to stop hunger.
